Low Level Laser Treatment (also called Cold Laser Treatment) utilizes specific wavelengths of light to accelerate healing of tissues. Both chronic and acute conditions may be helped, such as arthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, knee and joint pain, and tendonitis. The laser is placed directly over the injured area, as non-thermal photons of light pass through the skin layers. The injured cells absorb this light and correct cellular metabolism which normalizes injured tissue and reduces pain, inflammation, and edema. A series of treatments is usually necessary, with a frequency of several times a week if needed.
Microcurrent Therapy uses extremely low-level electrical currents to treat affected cells or tissue trigger points in order to stimulate the body’s healing process. Conditions treated include arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, sciatica and back pain, tendon and ligament injuries, and headache and neck pain. Microcurrent therapy restores normal electrical frequencies within the body’s cells, resulting in remarkable improvements in pain, inflammation and range of motion. Application of a low electrical current similar to the body’s bioelectric current restores the frequency of the body on a cellular level, repairing injury and facilitating healing. This is accomplished by stimulating the production of ATP (the body’s energy currency) and protein synthesis necessary for tissue repair. Reduction in pain and muscle spasm, and increased motility and function result. A treatment course typically involves several sessions, as efficacy accrues over time.
Electromuscular Stimulation uses high-voltage, low-amperage pulses to treat many conditions. EMS increases localized blood circulation, speeding healing and preventing disuse atrophy. Muscles are re-educated, maintaining or increasing range of motion and relaxing muscle spasms. Pain, swelling, and inflammation are relieved and injury rehabilitation time is greatly decreased. EMS increases internal muscle tone and is a very successful treatment for urinary incontinence and many types of neuropathy. Other conditions treated include cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, arthritis, chronic back and neck pain, soft tissue injuries, and fibromyalgia.
